iCloud Mail suddenly rejecting the e-mails I am sending to it

Hi,

I've been using iCloud mail since the days it was mobileme and for years I have been forwarding my incoming gmail automatically to my mobileme inbox. It was working without headaches until today.

Now EVERY e-mail that's been forwarded from me gets auto-rejected with this message dropping back to my sending gmail account:

"554 5.7.1 [CS01] Message rejected due to local policy. Please visit Postmaster information for iCloud Mail - Apple Support"

I have visited the link but there is no relevant information there, and nothing in the settings either. How can I stop my inbox from rejecting my own e-mails? Where can this 'local policy' be modified?

I am a paying iCloud subscriber and without being able to do this my account is not very useful unfortunately and I'll have to spend time and effort finding another solution which would not be ideal.

Thanks for the help!

Hello posetcay,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We want to help to get iCloud forwarding your email as expected again

Try the steps here to help resolve an iCloud Mail related issue:

"You can use iCloud Mail in the Mail app on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, or on iCloud.com on your iPad, Mac, or PC. If you can't access your email, or you can't send and receive messages with your @icloud.com email address, follow these steps.

Things to check first

  1. Check the system status of iCloud Mail.
  2. Check that you turned on iCloud Mail:
    • On your Mac, open the Mail app then choose Mail >Preferences. Click Accounts, then select your iCloud account in the sidebar. Under Account Information, make sure that the account is turned on and the status is online.
    • On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud and check that Mail is turned on.

3. Make sure you that haven't exceeded your iCloud storage limit. If you exceed your iCloud storage limit, learn how to make more space available in iCloud

4. Make sure that you're using the latest version of software on your device."

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
