Bad apple id

Unable to sign out of an Apple ID that doesn’t exist anymore for a phone. Need to set up a new phone with the same phone number but use a new Apple ID. Is this doable?

Unless you or Apple have deleted the ID then it exists. It isn't on a particular device, it is in Apple's database. You don't say what exact message is causing you to think the ID no longer exists so lets start with:

Make sure you are entering the correct email address. This document tells you the various ways you can try to discover your forgotten Apple ID --> If you forgot your Apple ID email address or phone number - Apple Support Note that typically this is an email address you use.

This document outlines what to do If you forgot your Apple ID password --> If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support

or go directly to this link --> http://iforgot.apple.com/

If you are seeing an "invalid" message or neither of the above two suggestions help, contact Apple:

Click here --> Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support Select your country, then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.
