Airpod Max Stain

I haven’t had my airpod max headphones for even a year and they are grossly stained beyond belief. Apple offers no type of solution to this problem, whether in the form of selling the headband separately (then why make it detachable??) to offering some way to get rid of the stains. Please help. I have called everyone and googled beyond belief. Apple care is completely useless in this regard as well.
