Try it before you advise it.
I was trying to reply to an old thread where someone incorrectly posted that the Mac Mail folder could be used using an ln -s soft link. They did not try their recommendation, which does not work under Ventura. I am new on this forum, and it appears my reply went to the wrong thread or created a new post.
Looks like the Desktop folder could be moved, but would Hard Links be better?

I find it a crazily contorted way Apple has of choosing which forum your post goes in, so don't feel bad about not being able to chew gum wilst walking bass akwards... it wouldn't help! ;)
I'm not on Ventura right now, but what are you trying to accomplish?
Thanks for responding. I want to move the Mac Mail folder onto an external volume. I tried a symbolic link but Mac Mail crashes instantly. Apparently, Apple does not want the ~/Library/Mail folder to to move under Ventura.
What OS version?
