Only if you don't already have one you can use.
You ca charge the iPhone with any Apple charger you may have, including ones from iPads and Macs with a USB-C port and even android devices with USB-C power adapters.
If you don't have an old one you can use, then yes, you would need to buy one.
If you have an and old USB-A charger with a USB-A to Lightning cable, you can also use that.
