My iPad is opening a skinny page on top of the other page when I click on something

Recently my iPad is opening a skinny page on top of the other page when I click on something. I hate this. If I click on it all my other pages went away. How do I go about returning to the old way,when I click on some thing it opens up a whole new page. I’m also having problems with things becoming incognito so the pages that were saved on top just disappear. I would love to be able to block incognito

You need to explore multitasking - as you have a slide-out view of an App enabled. Key to accessing and controlling multi-tasking is the small “three-dot” button that is found at the top-centre edge of the App window.
