Samsung CLX3185 print in color

Hi,

I cant seem to be able to print in color anymore. Work couple of weeks ago but now its always in black and white...

Latest driver is somekind of app from HP which is 4 years old and cant be opened on my current OS (12.6).

Anyone have an idea what can be done?

When adding new printer there is the option to add driver manually but what kind of format should that be? And since HP doesnt seem to have it (supposed to use their app that is to old anyways) seems pretty pointless anyways...

Printer is around 10 years so its even hard to contact HP since their system says nothing exists on the serial number....

Hi,

It may not change anything, but have you tried the usual things, like checking the printer settings, testing a safe boot, or resetting the printing system?

Reset the printing system on your Mac to solve a problem – Apple Support (UK)

What happens if you copy a colour document?

Any details about the app or printer driver in use now?

As you also indicated, printer drivers for the Samsung CLX-3185 compatible with macOS 12 Monterey do not seem to be available for download from HP.

There is a Samsung Printer Drivers v2.6 for OS X package download from Apple. A Samsung CLX-3180 Series version 1.07.01 driver is listed in the referenced article Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support. However, the installation may not work with macOS 12 Monterey (the discussion Samsung ML-1860 and latest MacOS - Apple Community about a workaround for another model could perhaps be of interest).
