Widgets Lock Screen access

I have the widgets weather app and app named mynetdiary on my Lock Screen so that I can access on Lock Screen. However, I still have to enter my passcode before I can access.

Also, the clock widget app works without to enter passcode.

I’ve checked and rechecked strings, updated versions of all apps, settings set to @access on Lock Screen “”.

running iOS 16.2 on iPhone 11.

what am I missing?

thank you.

Thanks for those details, fmwhelp.

Make sure you allow widgets to be accessed when the iPhone is locked. Use these steps to help:

1. Go to Settings  > Face ID & Passcode (on an iPhone with Face ID) or Touch ID & Passcode (on other iPhone models).
2. Enter your passcode.
3. Turn on Today View and Search (below Allow Access When Locked).

If this persists, Contact Apple Support for additional guidance.

All the best.

Hello fmwhelp,

If this issue only happens with a specific third-party Widget on your iPhone we'd recommend contacting the developer directly. Their Widget may require your device to be unlocked before you can use it, or they may have specific steps you can take. Get started here: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

"Contact the developer of an iOS, iPadOS, or watchOS app

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Search for the app, then tap it. If you can't find it, tap the account button  or your photo at the top of the screen, tap Purchased, tap "Not on this [device]," then tap the app.
  3. The app's product page appears. Scroll to the Ratings & Reviews section, then tap App Support. If you don't see App Support, make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID."

Best regards.
