No volume swipe on AirPods Pro 2

Can’t swipe volume on AirPods Pro 2. Occasionally a volume level window will appear; not change in level is possible.

Hello fitzaer,

Make sure you are following the steps from this article to adjust your volume:

Pause, skip, and adjust volume with your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support

To turn the volume up or down, place your thumb on the stem of either AirPod, and use your index finger to swipe up or down on the Touch control.

If the issue persists, reset your AirPods to see if it helps resolve the issue:

Hi fitzaer,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. If you're using your AirPods with an iPhone or iPad, we recommend updating to the latest version of iOS to see if the issue persists. Here's how if needed: Update your iPhone or iPad.

"

Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly

  1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
  5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

"

We also recommend checking to make sure you have the latest AirPod firmware. This article explains more about this: About firmware updates for AirPods.

If both iOS and your AirPod firmware are updated, Contact Apple Support for further assistance.

Take care.

Jeff, thank you for your reply. My iPhone, iPad and Mac are running on the latest OSs, I will look into making sure I have the latest AirPods Pro 2 firmware now. I bought them less than two months ago, I would hope they’re up to date, but certainly worth a check. Thank you!
