Many email providers now require that you use using App Specific Passwords when using IMAP or POP3 mail Apps.

If affected by this requirement, you will need to generate a unique password for your iPad email account - that will differ from your normal Account Password. As examples - AOL, Yahoo, Google, Microsoft all use App Specific Passwords when using anything other than their own email client Apps.

If you need to generate an App Specific Password, you’ll need to log-in to your Mail Providers account management webpage - using a web browser - and generate the Password from the appropriate account security page.

More information about AOL’s App Specific Passwords can be found here:

For Yahoo, more information can be found here:

I have no idea. I took my old ipad 2 and went to the apple store and they transferred everything then. That was 3 years ago.

this is a recent problem. Today to be exact.

i am having trouble signing into Opentable.com and they keep sending me emails with codes to get in, but I’m not getting the emails from them. Opentable says i have it blocked. I have a call into comcast to unblock opentable, because I have no idea what to do.

I’m not trying to create a bigger problem.

I have solved my opentable problem.

i went to the apple store to see if they could help. She deleted my account from safari. When she tried to put it back in, it would not allow it. She said it was a comcast problem.

i went to the comcast store and they had no idea how to fix this problem.

i can access my email account thru xfinity.com

i would prefer to access it with the envelop icon.

also i now notice that in my husbands email account the inbox is gone.
