Capturing mini-dv in premiere from Canon GL1 to 2019 Macbook pro in Premiere Pro 2023

Hi! I am super frustrated, this probably is an easy fix, but I haven't been able to ingest any of my old mini dv footage into my computer. I am using Premiere Pro 2023, I am able to connect my camera and control it in the capture window, but I am unable to to choose my capture settings as there are no options. I can not see video in the capture window and don't have access to record. I am on Mac OS Ventura and am using adapters from firewire mini-800,800-thunderbolt, thunderbolt to usb c.

I appreciate any help, as I have a friend with dementia and I want to get her some of these memories.
