No Notifications for Third Party apps

iOS 16.2

For about a month now, my phone has not been sending any push notifications for any app except for the defualt Apple apps (iMessage, Mail, etc.).

I have restarted my phone, checked notifications are enabled, checked scheduled summary is off, checked focus is off, and updated to latest os.

Any help would be appreciated, even if I have missed something simple.

Hello NYBeeast,

Next, try deleting and reinstalling the app to see if that resolves the issue: Redownload apps and games from Apple - Apple Support

If the issue persists, we recommend reaching out to the app developer for assistance as described here: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

"Contact the developer of an iOS, iPadOS, or watchOS app

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Search for the app, then tap it. If you can't find it, tap the account button  or your photo at the top of the screen, tap Purchased, tap "Not on this [device]," then tap the app.
  3. The app's product page appears. Scroll to the Ratings & Reviews section, then tap App Support. If you don't see App Support, make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID.
  4. In the App Store on iPhone, you can find the App Support button below the reviews."

We hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hello NYBeeast,

If you're not getting notifications for certain applications, you'll first want to make sure you have whatever notification type you want from it set up. In Settings > Notifications, select the app you want notifications from, then make sure Allow Notification is turned on and you have a notification type selected for it.

Use notifications on your iPhone or iPad

If the notifications for this application stopped working after you installed a system software update, check to see if any updates are available for the actual application.

1. Open the App Store.
2. Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen.
3. Scroll to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app, or tap Update All.

How to manually update apps on your Apple device

Make sure in Settings > General > Date and Time that Set Automatically is turned on. Also check in Settings > General > Background App Refresh, to make sure the applications you want notifications from are turned on in there.

Check to see if you have a focus configured which may be preventing notifications from coming in. Go to Settings > Focus and see if anything is set up in there. If something is, turn it off and test out the notifications.

Use Focus on your iPhone or iPad

Cheers!
