Airpods Pro A2084/A2083 question

I have Apple Airpods model number A2084. The right ear broke. My friend has the same problem with the left ear, but he has model A2083. He said he "read it somewhere" that it's possible to use it with my L A2084 and his R A2083 together. Before I pay him to send it to me, I want to make sure this is correct.

I've also seen L A2083/R A2084 on a few websites (not Apple) that suggest the left side is A2083 and the right side is A2084.

Can I use them together?

Thanks in advance.

I found a Wikipedia entry that says:

First-generation AirPods Pro

A2083 (Left AirPod)

A2084 (Right AirPod)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AirPods_Pro

I'm always skeptical of non-official info.

Hopefully, that's correct.
