How to connect MacBook Pro to iMac?

Hi,

I have connected my 2019 MacBook Pro (OS Ventura 13.1) to my 2018 iMac (OS Monterey 12.1) using a Mini Display port to USB-C cable. I want to use the MacBook screen as another screen. Have pressed Command + F2 but nothing. Is is possible to do this?

Thanks

iMac 27″, macOS 12.1

the last iMac that could do that trick is the 2014 model, and only when running High Sierra or OLDER.

  • The iMac used as a display must have macOS High Sierra or earlier installed.
  • The other Mac that you're connecting it to must have been introduced in 2019 or earlier and have macOS Catalina or earlier installed.
