Weird Voicemail Glitch

Both my husband and my phone has this weird voicemail glitch - when you’re scrolling through your voicemails it will randomly select (in grey) a voicemail. I clicked the 7/21 voicemail from my husband to listen to but (screenshot 2) the voicemail my scroll selected is what expands to show the message.

Hi Drish91,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

It looks like when you select one message, multiple messages are selected, is that right?

Do you experience the same behavior after you restart you iPhone?

If you enable Airplane Mode then disable Airplane Mode to refresh your network connection, do you still see the same thing? You can enable Airplane Mode then disable it in the Control Center of your iPhone.

Also, this article explains how to troubleshoot your display if it's not working as you'd expect: If the screen isn't working on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

"If your screen is too sensitive or responds intermittently to touch

  1. Restart your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Make sure that your screen is clean and free of any debris or water.
  3. Disconnect any Lightning or USB-C accessories. If your screen works after removing an accessory, try using a different outlet, cable, or charger.
  4. Remove any cases or screen protectors."

We look forward to your reply.

Cheers!

Hello Drish91,

If the Phone app isn't working as expected with voicemails, try the following steps to see if they can solve this for us:

  1. Remove any case or screen protector on the iPhone. As these may cause issues with the touch screen.
  2. Close the Phone app: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch
  3. Restart the iPhone: Restart your iPhone
  4. Relaunch the Phone app and tap on the Voicemail tab.
  5. Then test the issue by scrolling and selecting a voicemail to review the transcript.

Does the issue continue after closing the Phone app and restarting the iPhone? As these steps can often resolve similar issues.

In case it persists, do you notice any scrolling issues when using other apps on the iPhone? You could test an app like Safari, since you can scroll through things like search engine results. Is the issue isolated to only the Phone app or other apps, as well? These details will help us moving forward.

Hoping to hear how it goes, take care.

Hello Miche11e_P

the issue is when I start scrolling in my VM the screen randomly selects a voicemail and highlights it (first picture posted). Notice how it doesn’t expand? When you click on a message it would expand. So I am not clicking a message - I am scrolling. When I actually do go to click a message, the voicemail that expands is the one my phone randomly selected (which sometimes is a scroll down). It doesn’t expand the voicemail I actually selected. Does this make sense?
