Voice Volume using Maps and CarPlay

I have an iPhone 13 mini. Just upgraded to 16.2 and cannot hear the voice commands while using Maps with CarPlay. Did not have any problem until the upgrade. Does anyone know how to turn up the voice volume in Maps?

I think that may have fixed it. Only drove in my neighborhood and won't know for sure until I can get on a noisy road. Thanks to everyone for responding so quickly!

Upgraded to 16.3. I confirmed all settings were correct and the phone's volume was at max. Nothing changed. This may be a CarPlay issue. Using CarPlay, if I turn the radio up to where Siri can be heard, the music is deafening. I happened to receive a telephone call while testing. The person's voice was significantly louder than the radio and way too loud with the phone volume at max. Playing music with iTunes, everything seemed to work fine. Listening to iTunes while driving is not something I do, so this is still a significant issue for me. Guess I'll have to wait for 16.x.

Hey rh8157,

Earlier you mentioned just updating to iOS 16.2. iOS 16.3 was recently released. Since updates include new features, security updates, and fixes, we recommend creating a recent backup and then updating to it. If you need assistance with backing up and/or updating, follow the steps below or in this article: Update your iPhone or iPad

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

Also, make sure the volume is being increased on the car stereo and also the device.

Hope this helps. Take care.

Thanks for the reply, rh8157.

If this seems like an issue with CarPlay, use the steps below next to help remove the connection with CarPlay and your car, then connect again:

1. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.
2. Make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.

If you still have issues connecting to CarPlay, contact Apple Support.

All the best.

That did not help. I had already done all of the things in those instructions. I just tested it again to be sure and made certain the phone was at full volume. The Siri voice is about 25% of the volume it was before the upgrade to 16.2. Impossible to hear the directions while driving with any road noise.

Please fix what was broken in the upgrade, so I don't need to dust off my road atlas.
