My email "from" recently changed from me to a Person I got an email from 3 years ago. I only see this on emails I send to my own email, but other people get the appropriate "from" Any Idea on how to change it back to my name

My emails "from" recently changed from my name ato a Person's name I got an email from 3 years ago. This is only a problem on emails I send to myself. Other people receive emails from me with appropriate "from". I don't recall doing any changes recently, but I did look up an email from this person a few days ago. Now all my emails that I sent to myself back through 2014 have this name as "from". Its strange.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with the sending email being incorrect when using the Mail app. We'd like to help.

If you have more than one account in your Mail app, is it affecting all email accounts or just one? If you open the Mail Settings, are you able to view the incorrect email there? Follow these steps to get that checked:

In the Mail app on your Mac
Choose Mail
Settings
Then click the Accounts pane.

Let us know if you can view that email and if you can change it back from there.
