Antivirus?

Hi there.

Is it recommended that I download an anti-virus software for my Mac / or does the macOS itself check for malware regularly?

MacBook Air, macOS 13.1

Not necessary. Nor are any 3rd party applications like CleanMyMac or PowerMyMac or CCleaner, etc.
