Share ETA isn’t working

When I share my ETA it does not notify the person that I shared it with!! There is no sent text or alert showing my ETA. When I share it, the person I sent it to can only see it if they have maps open. But they don’t know to open it without any notification. I have to pull over on the road, type a text saying I shared it, then resume driving. This is totally useless!!!

Share ETA Not Working After IOS 18 update Before updating, Apple Maps would allow me to share my ETA and would turn from blue to green when doing so. Now, each time I try to share my location with a contact, it will say “sharing ETA” before the tab drops without actually sharing my location. Location services are turned on for Apple Maps, as they always have been. Is anyone else having this issue :/

Auto-share of ETA on Apple Maps is not working for just my home destination Okay, so here's a weird one. In Apple Maps on my iPhone 14, if I go into the Favourites and choose my Home address (from my contact card), and select "Share ETA" and Add Person, whomever I add to that list, once I tap Done, they are removed. So, in effect, I can't auto-share my ETA on Apple Maps just to my home address. If I try my Work address or any other favourite, it works fine. I have tried this on a couple of my family iPhones and it seems to work for them. I have tried uninstalling Apple Maps and reinstalling. I have tried deleting my contact card and adding a new one. Is there some other trick I can use to 'reset' Apple Maps or my contacts so that I can auto-share my ETA when travelling home?

When notifications are not displayed for something that you have sent, then the issue is generally on the recipient's side. Have you tried Sharing your ETA with someone else with an iPhone?
