Apple id

I just upgraded my iMac to macOS 13.2. I can sign onto this site with my Apple ID and password. But when I go to System Settings and try to sign in, I cannot sign on using the very same Apple ID and password. What is the problem?

apple id whenever I open my system preference it shows that m apple id is not active but my mac is signed in with that apple id and I'm unable to do anything on my mac. what should I do? I'm not able to change the password to that ID as it always shows that ID is not active. Any suggestions?

OK, I restarted the computer and can sign on. But I can't get my @mac.com mail in the Mail app. What settings do I need to fix?
