Some months back (maybe in iOS 15?), Siri started spelling “something” as “some thing.” (I even had to correct it right here, as I’m dictating now, and I definitely didn’t say it as two words – I intentionally said the first version as fast as I could.) Is there a trick to retrain her to spell it correctly? I know there’s a trick for proper names, but what about words in general?

Though "Hey Siri" may be working, we want you to follow the steps in this article any way: If "Hey Siri" isn't working on your iPhone. In particular, follow the steps under 'Set up "Hey Siri" to help Siri recognize your voice' to turn off then set up "Hey Siri" as new. Test for resolution after that.

Hmm, maybe that initial success was a fluke. It’s still spelling “something” like “some thing” most of the time.
Well that’s really interesting, resetting Hey Siri seems to have worked. I also powered down and restarted the phone, but I have a feeling it was the Siri thing…
(I always keep my iOS and apps updated, so I know it wasn’t that ;-)
