Updated phone: Airtags not working now

I am extremely frustrated that my phone updated and now my airtag is not working. I tried resetting it and now my phone will recognize there is an airtag that can be synced now. However, when I begin to set it up at the end it says "Could not Complete Airtag setup, to set up this airtag sign in with your Apple ID in settings." I am signed in with my Apple ID.

Hi katajean,

There are a few settings you'll want to check to confirm before attempting to set up your AirTag.

Confirm that Find My and Find My network are both enabled. You can do this by going to Settings > Your Name > Find My > Find My iPhone.
Go to Settings > Your Name > iCloud and confirm that iCloud Keychain is enabled
Go to Settings Your Name > iCloud, confirm that Messages in iCloud is enabled
