iPhone SE 3rd Gen blank screen

In our company we have a lot of iPhone SE 3rd Gens. We also have some SE 2nd Gens and XRs.

Multiple 3rd Gen SEs are having a recurring issue where the screen goes blank/black. I believe the phones are still on as the home button still clicks.

A force restart usually fixes it but for some people it keeps happening.

I've had reports it happens when ending a call suggesting a proximity sensor bug but others say it happens at other times. A search on here shows other people having this issue.

What can be done about this?
