My iPhone has been having issues with the charged battery going to low or no charge and shutting off suddenly. After the 15.7.3 update the charging% seems to be increasing at a slower, maybe more reasonable rate. The issue seems to have appeared or became worse after one of the previous updates. Did the update include a fix or could it just have fixed bad code by updating in general?

Zazierbi ~ Apple regards 80% Maximum Capacity as due for battery replacement. And an original iPhone 6S+ battery is well overdue for replacement after so many years. Also "100% to 1% or outright breakdown in less than 5 minutes" is the behaviour of a depleted battery, not a software bug. ...So have the weak, aging battery replaced:

That reminds me, you know the soft tissue paper insert that protects the screen when the MacBook is shipped? I have been using that every day overnight to help protect my screen. That doesn't do anything negative to the battery etc does it?

No. But what is a "negative" is this:

That also just happened to me!! The battery drained from 100 to 10 in a matter of minutes after the update.

Me too. This is ridiculous. Let us back out this release until Apple has fixed the problem. Apple basically is admitting that they are looking into the issue.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but the cynic in me says you might be an Apple rep! Besides, I can't afford a new battery.
I had already tried this (a few times now) and it didn't make one jot of difference. So the issue persists.
I have done a force restart twice to no avail and have been dreading doing a restore, but at this point, it's all I have left try.
That's the issue. I can't afford one.
Is there any way to downgrade the IOS to a previous version?
Did iOS 15.7.3 fix any battery issue(s)?
