iPhone Charging Slowly on iMac 24 2021

My iPhone XS is taking forever to charge on my iMac all of the sudden. It used to be the fastest way to charge. Now it takes up to an hour to charge 1%. The cord is the one that came with the computer to charge keyboard and mouse. It has worked fine up until now. It also works fine on other devices. What is going on?

In brief, my phone charges extremely slowly when I connect it to my either of my two MacBook Pros (work and home). This was not the case before the update, when I was getting similar charging speeds on both laptops as I was getting when using my apple 20W usb-c power adapter (received with my iPad). All my devices are up to date and I am using only original cables. My iPhone battery also sits at 85% of original charge, and supports peak operations. Also, I have no problems fast-charging with my 20W power adaptor. Any ideas? Cheers!

Slow Charging of iPhone via USB A port of Macbook M1pro after iOS16 update Ever since I updated my phone xr to iOS16, my Mac mini M1 isn't able to charge it at the usual speed. It’s taking 10 minutes to increase by 1%. Unprecedentedly slow. although when tested with Windows Laptop or the original iPad Charger 12W, it charging at a much faster rate. any reason? Any fix?

Under certian conditions, the iPhone can and will control the charging rate.

When if the iPhone is hot from charging, heavy usage or air temp.

When the iPhones battery level is nearing a full charge.

So this actually may not have anything to do with your iMac.

To test try using a different USB to Lighting cable.

Use a 20W wall charger instead of the iMac.
