Is this backup sufficient

On both an iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPad, iOS 16.2 is the operating system. On both devices, the setting in iCloud is that the "iCloud Backup" is "on."

Are these sufficient backups should something happen rendering either device inoperable and a new device must replace them?

Thank you.

For the most part, yes.

You can of course perform a backup onto a computer, using iTunes or Finder for extra security if you want.
