Best noise reduction plugins for FCPX?

Hi team,

I just opened a previous project and want to complete and master it. I discover a whole bunch of Accusonus deNoiser plugins that are no longer working -- FCPX has 'de-activated' them. I'm trying to update them, or whatever, but it seems that Accusonus is not updating those plugins. So I'm wondering if there might be other deNoiser plugins out there that someone here might recommend?

Mmm. I see I've also got CrumplePop. Mmm. Which FCPX has also 'de-activated'. What's this with FCPX de-activating 3rd party plugins?

I'm still looking for recommendations.

For voice FCP's Voice Isolation is really probably the best. I haven't used them in quite a while, but the iZotope RX plugins were pretty amazing.

Open the control panel on an Accusonus effect and look at the bottom, there should be a way to "reactivate" the plug in (click on the little "key" icon:

In my experience the plugs in would become deactivated with every OS upgrade, etc.

I take it that you are in the Audio browser, right?

Do you see "Audio Enhancements"? Hover your cursor near these words, and then click "Show":

What OS are you using? It requires machine learning software that's available in macOS 12.3 or later.

Can you post a screenshot of what you have selected in audio configurations?

Oops. 'Voice Isolation' looks defunct. At least it's not in my FCPX (latest version). Will also check out iZotrope RX plugins.

Dang, didn't know about it. I should probably do a study of the available FCPX plugins. Duh. Will try it immediately.

For some odd reason my CrumplePop plugins just kicked in an started working again. Intriguing. Their deNoiser is pretty good. But I'm off to try 'Voice Isolation'. Thank you kindly Tom. The nice thing about FCPX plugins, they don't go south on you unexpectedly.

I upgraded to Ventura. When I opened FCPX the ERA plugins were working again, no effort on my part required.

Now, touch wood, everything will go smoothly with Ventura, FXPX, and Logic, my go-to apps.

It's there in the current version. Just make sure you have a channel selected in audio configurations if you're using dual mono.

Mmmm. FCPX 10.6.5 (have I not kept up?, going to look) ... It's a 'stereo' track. I've highlighted the clip in the Audio Configuration. If I do a search of Audio plugins there is nothing that shows up as Voice Isolation. Even if I have the clip as 'Dual Mono' nothing shows up in the search.

A mystery...

Hey Luis, a mystery ... this is what I get ... no sign of 'Voice Isolation' ... and I'm trying this on different clips and whether or not they are stereo or dual mono. No 'Voice Isolation' ... Next step, 'trash preferences'. Will report back if anything changes.

Aha!!! I've been lagging behind. Apologies. I'm thinking I can get that with Monterey. I've been avoiding upgrading OS coz of fear of issues.

Am going to upgrade to Monterey right now! And compare the Voice Isolation with the CrumplePop I've got running there now.

Will report back. More soon ....

Hey Tom,

Should I just update to Ventura? I'm running mainly FCPX and Logic Audio for work. Plus MS Office for a particular project. Everything else is less key.

Or should I figure out how to do Monterey, and wait a bit more before jumping to Ventura?

And what would YOU say about bumping up to Ventura? Am I taking a chance? I'm in the middle of trying to get three different films completed. Chop chop.
