New Mac Mini M2 Pro, Internet Problems

I've just installed a maxed out Mac Mini M2 Pro. Internet speed tests results are very positive. 500MBS both up and down. But web pages load very slowly, and sometimes time out. Ethernet connection. Every other Mac in the house runs just fine. Could this be the hard disk optimizing itself? I've tried dozens of fixes, but no improvement.

Ok, I've just changed a setting in the network hardware pane for my Ethernet connection:

switched to "configure manually"

disabled AVB/EAV mode

and rebooted.

It's been 15 minutes and internet is fast, downloads don't stall, and I haven't lost a single ping.

While 13.2.1 did someone help with packet loss, the problem is not fixed on my Mac mini (M2 Pro, 12/19 core, 16GB/1TB, 10Gbps ETH). I test it in two ways. I ping apple.com in a Terminal window and run Ookla Speedtest (the app, not the website). I thought it was fixed when the first 20 pings went through just fine, but then it had a timeout. That prompted me to run Speedtest and as before, the upload test failed. With that failure, I restored the AVB/EAV workaround and all works well with the manual configuration. If it fixed it for most, that’s good, but it does not seem to be fixed in all cases.

I had a terrible time getting ethernet connection with minute and two Mac mini pro. It turned out to be one of the connections of the airport extreme, or the ethernet cable. I connected it to an ethernet hub that my other two iMac’s are connected to, and everything worked perfectly. I seem to recall I had trouble with that third from the top airport extreme connection before. It was like five years ago, so this time I wrote down a notation concerning the issue notes putting a number of keywords so I’m would be able to find it easily. Seth

Would you happen to have an external hard drive or flash drive that you could use to troubleshoot this network issue? Troubleshoot by installing macOS onto the drive, boot up from that drive, don't sign in with an AppleID, don't migrate from any other drive, setup account and network settings from scratch, then see if ethernet/wifi connectivity and/or speed issues exist.

FYI to all who might come across this thread.

I've had really reliable connectivity since swapping my device and adjusting a few settings:

  1. EAB/AVB as previously detailed
  2. I have hardware speeds specified on both the Mini Ethernet and my switching - I appreciate you may not be able to do this with consumer or unmanaged equipment
  3. Disabling any power save or sleep function I could find in Settings

I have been in touch with Apple a few times and provided information as best I can. They've been really great collecting information and interrogating my grey area diagnosis. Hopefully my experience is isolated as I observe 13.2.1 had made a noticeable improvement in connectivity reliability for both myself and others on this thread. If I get some time I will look at rolling back some of my changes starting with (2) above and see if I can isolate anything specific.

Just took delivery of my M2 Mini Pro yesterday. Came with Ventura 13.1 on it. If you haven't applied the update to 13.2 (as I did), then I would do so and then assess if your Internet issues persist.

I have the Synology RT6600AX router and a Motorola MB8611 modem, both 2.5G capable. There is Cat5e from the modem to the router, and then Cat7 cables from the router back into the household via a Startech 2.5G switch. I have no network slowdown issues with the new M2 mini.

My Wi-Fi right now on the M2 Mini Pro is showing 1300 Mbps and I am 20 feet and a wall from the router.
