Insert a hyperlink in mail signature

How do I Insert a hyperlink in mail signature? I go to the open the website I want to link to in my signature, copy the hyperlink in the top bar, insert it in my signature under Mail>Preferences.

Then when I create a new mail message, the signature has only the raw text of the hyperkinetic not an active hyperlink to the website.

What am I doing wrong? I am running High Sierra OS 10.13.6 (17G14042).

I don't believe you are doing anything wrong. I experience a similar failure in Mail on my 2012 MacBook Pro running Catalina.

It does not happen with every email I send that includes my signature. But when it does happen, I have found that if I take the steps listed below, the hyperlink is properly restored.

• position the cursor behind the last character of the failed link and press <Delete>

• retype the last character and press <Return>

• press <Delete> to remove the just added carriage return

The hyperlink is now returned to a live state.

Thanks for the responses. I think what is becoming clear is that there is no reliable way to insert a hyperlink in any of my standard Mac Mail signatures.

It appears that the only way to get a hyperlink into a signature at all is to do it manually message by message using the quaint method of deleting the last letter of the link, retyping it, hitting enter and then deleting it!

I will use this method until I find a better one.

Thanks rkaufmann87 and D. I. Johnson.
