My Macbook lock and when left idle and needs a re-boot to restart

If i leave the Mac Book idle for a few mins it locks and needs a re-boot. The lock is with the screen on and the keyboard and the mouse fail to respond. Re-boot is the only answer

M2 Macbook Air randomly “shuts off” I recently got an M2 Macbook Air. The first week, it was perfectly fine. But now, periodically (it may not happen, could happen once a day etc) it just suddenly “shuts off” while im using it. The screen shuts off, the Force Touch Touchpad disables (I can’t press it down) and pressing buttons does nothing. I just have to wait for it to turn back on (can take 5-30 seconds). When it does turn back on, it opens to the Lock Screen, when I log in everything is still open. I have restarted it and done a software update, still problem persists. Its quite annoying, so any advice would be appreciated! Thanks

Macbook Air 2022 - M2 - issue with keyboard and trackpad I had the similar issue where many users reported about the keboard and trackpad becomes unresponsive, I was hoping with latest OS update (sonoma), it will be resolved, unfortunately no the problem still persists The keyboard and trackpad stops working after it is left idle for some time. I was suspecting the issue was with some power saving option, where the backlit goes off, so disabled that then didn't face the issue with the keyboard and trackpad. But now, the issue happens if I am in teams call (used browser to join) - and I can't leave the meeting as the keyboard and trackpad stops working after sometime, only way to leave the meeting is to hardboot the mac. This is utterly annoying. hey Apple, if you guys are monitoring these discussion - please fix this - this is not a single user issue, the model itself seems to be defective.

Did you already install the latest macOS 13.2 update?

If this does not solve the issue, try to start in Safe Mode, to let the MacBook Pro diagnose itself:
