Turn off Macbook Pro with Touch ID

Got an M2 pro13" and that works fine with an external keyboard, but apparently this can't be done with the built-in keyboard. Especially when in a rush or on transit and you need to shut down without fiddling around with a mouse, why can this not be done? Using the "Power" button will cause a force shutdown. Steve, please come back!

The touch-bar could display "Restart - Sleep - Cancel - Shutdown" options when "control or function - power" pressed.

Try holing Control and momentarily touching the power button. On Macs with touch-id the power button is a deep press of the touch-id sensor.

Tthis may take some fiddling, but please report any results, good or bad.
