My master system photo library is located on an external SSD and the usual "this library isn't searchable in spotlight due to its location" issue still exists. Does anyone know of any workaround or are we stuck with yet another half-baked Apple service? Thanks.
What format is this external SSD, and how is attached? Ventura wants Photos libraries to be stored on locally attached volumes in APFS or "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" format. FAT-based disk volumes are not usable for Photos libraries on Ventura.

For the library to be searchable from Spotlight it needs to be in the Pictures Folder. End of.

Thanks for your reply but this is nothing to do with how the drive is formatted. But, it is connected via a USB-C enclosure and is formatted with APFS. As Apple allow the system photo library to be located on an external drive, so they should allow full Spotlight on said library. I'm guessing its still not an option...
Spotlight search of Photos Libraries was a major change that came with the upgrade to Ventura. I would bet that an extension of this will require another major upgrade. Could be the next OS, or maybe never.
