How do I save documents locally? I do not want to save it to the iCloud, I want to save it to my mac.

iCloud storage is full, but I have available storage on my Mac that I already paid extra for when I bought it. The extra storage has been rendered useless because I can't seem to save anything locally. The only option is to pay more per month to upgrade to a higher cloud plan. I can't print or email any documents until I pay to upgrade.

This is has halted my business proceedings for over a week. If I can't operate my business on Apple, then I won't use it. I need something reliable.

MacBook Pro 13″, OS X 10.10

You can save locally only by selecting a location on your Mac directly when saving files.

If you have the iCloud Desktop and Documents option turned on, the documents are stored both locally and on iCloud (synchronized), you may want to turn that off so everything in those folders is then stored locally only, and not on iCloud at all.

Go to System Settings ➜ Apple ID ➜ iCloud ➜ iCloud Drive ➜ Options ➜ Documents and Desktop and uncheck it.

If you need to use a different device to get your work done, then by all means do so. Threats don't work here. This is a user to user forum, we have no investment in you using Apple products. Feel free to use whatever device fits your needs better.
