Screen Mirroring Macbook to Ipad is not working

However, screen mirroring from Ipad to Mac works well!!!


I have a Macbook air m1 with macOS 13.2 and an Ipad Pro 3rd gen IpadOS 16.3


I've tried everything.

Both are logged in with the same account.

Switching on/off airplay and/or bluetooth and/or wife is not working.

Wife is connected to the same router.

Restarting both only helps sometimes and only for a while.

Turning handoff on/off does not help.


It shows an error Unable to Connect to “iPad” The device timed out.



Nothing helps.

It is a very frustrating bug. Apple has so many geniuses. They should be able to figure it out as people have been complaining about it for some time already.

I have the same issue as discussed here:

I tried all the suggestions in that thread:

  • checking compatibility of devices;
  • same account;
  • same wifi;
  • restarting devices;
  • singing off from accounts;
  • on/off handsoff on both devices.


Also there is a thread here where people discuss the same issue.

It works sometimes for a short period of time and then it stops working again.

Mmmm thank you for your reply, and added info.,EagerKuzn.

Sorry we haven't helped ... seems the issue is affecting many, and the suggested workarounds only prove workable for some.


You might want to send feedback to Apple:

They will likely not reply, yet if they have details of issue on the various Mac models,

there is more likelihood of beneficial changes in an upcoming update.
