How to change the color of folders without Preview?

Does anyone know to change the color of folders without using Preview ("new from clipboard" is greyed out, so I don't have permission to copy and use existing file folders to create new colored ones). I have Mac OS Monterey.

Do you mean to color the folder icons?

And you already have some of the color you want?

You need only the Finder. Select one with the color you want, press Command-I to open the Info window.

Select the icon at the top left, and press Command-C to copy.

Then do the same with other folders, and paste.
