Display compatability

I recently bought a studio display. i have a 4th generation iPad Pro that is operating on 16.3 and should be recognizing the display optimally but it isn’t…just mirrors my iPad screen. Please advise. My iPad Pro is a 4th gen, not 3rd, but there’s no exact match in your list.

iPad Pro 12.9-inch, 3rd Gen, Wi-Fi

Hello lemon hound,

Is your iPad an 11" or 12.9" model?

If you have an 4th gen 12.9 iPad Pro, your iPad simply doesn't support external displays. The only thing you can do is mirroring your screen. For using your external display as an external display for your iPad, you must have an M1 or an M2 chip in your iPad, but your iPad has an A12Z.

Else, if you have an 4th gen 11" iPad Pro, go to Settings > Display & Brightness, then tap on Arrange an switch off "Mirror display". For using an external display with this iPad you have to connect a mouse and a keyboard.

Kind Regards
