“Search the Web” button opens Safari

I usually use Chrome or Firefox as my default browser. When you highlight text, a “Search the Web” button pops up and clicking it used to open a Google search as a new tab in the same browser. But after a recent iOS update, you now have to click the right arrow to get this button to show up AND it always switches you to Safari.
