When using Airplay to drive Sonos speakers from iPhone 13, music stops after one song

When using Airplay/Music App to drive Sonos speakers from iPhone 13, the music stops after one song. This did not happen with the identical setup and iPhone 12. After the music stops, a look at the Music app shows it is still playing but no sound is coming from speakers. To clear the problem, you can select the phone speaker and sound plays again continuously. Reselect the Sonos speaker and the problem recycles... one song about and then it stops again. Really annoying, what's causing this?

I have the exact same issue on my iPad. But my IPhone works fine.

everything updated. Also if I play the same song from the same playlist using the Sonos player it works fine. I’ve rebooted everything. I even got the new 6E router to make sure not congestion. No change. It’s not Sonos as my iPhone plays just fine.

over the past 3 years one issue after another with Apple Music. Last time was pauses. I purchased a new IPad for that no change. Not getting what I paid for or support for being a loyal apple customer.

Hi KVGalen,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.

It looks like you have seen the best article for AirPlay issues. What happens if you play music right from your iPhone speakers instead of through Sonos with AirPlay? If it works as expected, the issue would be isolated to Sonos.

We'd recommend being sure your iPhone is updated to iOS 16.3 to rule this being related to an outdated version of iOS: Update your iPhone or iPad. Then check for any updates to your Sonos system. You may need to contact their Help and Support.

Have a fantastic day!

I have the same issue with my iPhone 12 and MacBook Pro M1 when playing on a Sonos One SL Serie-ID A100. The music plays fine on Sonos One SL Serie-ID A201 and Sonos Five Serie-ID D102. I have reset everything with the A100 and also tried to reset to factory mode. I have also tried to connect with ethernet cable to avoid possible wi-fi issues. Nothing seems to help except it looks like playing the Sonos Radio from the Sonos app on the iPhone works fine.
