Apple ID doesn’t work with multiple profiles on the same account. Instead, Apple likes each user to have their own Apple ID account. To share shareable subscriptions with multiple users, you can set up a Family Sharing group, by inviting other users each by their own Apple ID account. Then no password has to be shared. Safe and sound.

Apple’s view on that is to create child account(s), and have each user switch to their own user on the Apple TV box.

Approve what kids buy with Ask to Buy - Apple Support. Prevent your payment method being used through their account unintentionally. It is ‘on’ by default for children under 13* (age limit may differ a bit by country).
Thank you for the additional information. I think I understand it better now.

Okay. I think maybe I did not provide enough information. I do not have an Apple TV box. I have a Roku and an Apple TV account, for which I pay a yearly subscription fee, and watch content through the Apple TV app on Roku.
I could set up an additional Apple ID as mentioned in your reply, but as I understand it, my yearly subscription is tied to my Apple ID, so if I set up additional Apple IDs, I would incur a separate subscription fee for each one. Also, I don't want to limit access to Apple TV series and movies, so I'm not sure a child Apple ID is viable.
I travel frequently and always have a house sitter stay when away. We try to make it as pleasant a stay for house sitters as possible. So for Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video (and anything else we might subscript to month-by-month, such as HBO, Disney, Showtime) we just set up a guest profile they can click on when using the apps, instead of using our profile, which would mark shows we are watching done should someone else watch the same one. So it is one account for each of those services, with different profiles to track what is being watched. We would like to be able to set up something similar for the Apple TV app on Roku.
I only have one Apple ID. What I am trying to do is set up a way that house sitters can use Apple TV when I am away without screwing up my "up next" list.
