NAS Server connection

When I boot up I keep getting a popup dialog saying "There was a problem connecting to the server "DS220J". I've tried everything I can think of including trying to delete server from network connections and re-installing Monterey. Running a MacBookAir 13" Early 2015. Ethernet and WiFi active. 2 other Mac's do not have the same problem. Both running Ventura.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.6

Hi Bruno,

You're correct, it has to do with an outside vender. It's due to a program, EyeTV, that is set to start on boot up. I only found out by chance in that I stopped and restarted the program and lo and behold the pop appeared. Program being replaced by NextPVR. FYI running 13.2. Can mark this as resolved.

Thanks for your time.

Hey there mikematthias,

While you may need to get in touch with the manufacturer of your network device, or even contact your work's IT department if this deals with that, we'd like to help however we can. Let's begin with ruling out some possible causes, along with confirming more details to better understand the issue you mentioned:

  1. When did this first start to show when attempting to access that network from the affected Mac?
  2. Where exactly is that network device located?
  3. From your screenshot, we also see other things listed under 'Locations' within Finder, but we wanted to confirm if you have any issues with accessing them from the same affected Mac?
  4. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section ‘Restart your Mac' here: Shut down or restart your Mac
  5. You mentioned that you have macOS Ventura installed on it, but the latest version is macOS Ventura 13.2. You can verify this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update macOS on Mac.

Cheers!
