How do I change the default file location when I save a file to the iCloud? Right now I go to save a file and it opens in a specific folder but I want it to open in 'browse'

Hi Art H,

You started from a great resource: Access and manage your files in iCloud Drive

For help with iCloud Drive, view the information below found in the article here for clarification on where files are stored: Use iCloud Drive to store documents on your Mac, iPhone, and iPad

"Store your Desktop and Documents folders in iCloud Drive

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click [your name] at the top of the sidebar. If you don’t see your name, click Sign in with your Apple ID to enter your Apple ID or to create one.
  2. Click iCloud on the right, click iCloud Drive, then click Options.
  3. If you don’t see Options, make sure iCloud Drive is turned on.
  4. Select Desktop & Documents Folders.
  5. Click Done.

After you select Desktop & Documents Folders, your Desktop and Documents folders are moved into iCloud Drive. They also appear in the iCloud section of the Finder sidebar.

Tip: You can quickly view the sync status of iCloud Drive on your Mac. Move the pointer over iCloud Drive in the Finder sidebar, then click the status or information icon."

You can also find helpful information on different types of documents are stored here: Work with folders and files in iCloud Drive and here: Organize files and folders in iCloud Drive on iCloud.com

Cheers.
