Contact (abba) archive error, Big Sur 11.7

I have multiple abba archive files for my Contacts. Two weeks ago, I was able to replace my Contacts with any of those archive files. As of 2 days ago when I tried to replace my Contacts with an archive file I got an error that there are no cards. I restarted my laptop and pulled abba files from my backup drive and still have the problem. But, if I create an archive file today, I am able to open it without the problem. Is this a Contact app issue? How can I open my older abba files?

From what I have read from one source, this would be from a family Old Version of PSX or macOS dating back to around  El Capitan
