Rural location. SOS mode disables Wi-Fi calling.
Hi, I’m in a rural area. I have poor service. However, I do have strong Wi-Fi recently, after some iPhone updates, I frequently am unable to make calls outbound. I am also missing inbound calls. Wi-Fi is strong, but SOS is showing over the cellular net work. SOS mode appears to disable Wi-Fi calling. I do not have an alternate Wi-Fi network to use, and sometimes I can get the phone working by doing multiple restarts, or multiple toggling of airplane mode. However, this is dangerous, I had a dryer fire this afternoon, and I have been unable to call for support. I was able to dial 911 and get the fire department to come out… But I need to call the dryer service people to have them fix what’s wrong. iPhone is preventing me from getting a line out. If the only thing I can do is call emergency services from my home… The iPhone is not functioning.
