Email stuck too large attachment

By accident I attached an entire photo library to an email. Getting message "This message can't be saved to Drafts mailbox.This message contains one or more attachments that are too large to be saved to the drafts mailbox. Try deleting some attachments" There is an OK to click. I click it but the same message just repeats. I can't get it to go away so I can access the email and delete attachments. Can't quit mail because of it. I'm stuck! Thanks in advance for any help.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.6

Thank you. I did try that but it didn't work. I'm embarrassed to say that after hitting the ok button at least 100 times it FINALLY allowed me to click "don't save" I had already tried hitting OK so many times is why I finally sent a message for help but then decided to just keep hitting OK which felt stupid bc I was continuing to try something that didn't work, but then IT DID!

If the email is in the outbox, disconnect from the Internet and delete the email from the outbox. It won't delete from the outbox because it is trying to send.
