Live text is missing option from my iPad ios 16

How do I get the settings toggles to turn on live text? My iPad has iOS 16.2. There is no toggle to turn it on under camera settings or under languages and regions. My camera will also go into live mode, but there is no option for text. My husband has the exact same iPad, and our settings are exactly the same, except I updated my iPad earlier than he did period. His iPad has the toggle under camera, it has a toggle under languages and regions. Both of our systems are exactly the same, except i have NO live text option. It was supposed to be automatic with the iOS 16 update, and it’s not even a selectable item on my iPad. After this last update my text dictation doesn’t work in mail or Facebook messenger. Since we can’t go back and reload updates, How do I turn on something that’s not there when it’s supposed to be there? How do I turn on live text when there is no toggle? What do I do about my dictation problem please help

That’s why I posted this trouble ticket and request for help because it’s supposed to be on there. I should be able to select live text and turn it on. It is not even on there as an option(thus the question) I provided photos of identical iPads updated the same way. Purchased on the same day from the same place. The toggle is NOT there on MY iPad —that is why I’m posting the question. How do I get the toggles because my update must’ve been faulty somewhere along the line.

that is obvious by being on one identical iPad and not being on the other. How do I get the ability to use live text? How to get live text turn on toggles in camera settings and language and Region that SHOULD be there to choose.

I’m sorry. My iPad is in the list. That should be able to have live text. My husbands iPad is exactly identical to mine. With same updates. He has it. I don’t. there is something wrong with my updates. I also have iOS 16.2 on my iPad. Your comment was not helpful. Please respond with something that will help me solve my problem. Don’t post things that have nothing to do with my problem. Thank you.

To use Live Text, you need an iPhone XS, iPhone XR, or later with iOS 15 or later.

Live Text is also available on iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation) or later, iPad Pro 11-inch (all models), iPad Air (3rd generation) or later, iPad (8th generation) or later, and iPad mini (5th generation) or later with iPadOS 15.1 or later.
