iPad as dedicated photo viewer

I want to use the iPad as a dedicated phone viewer sitting out for anyone to view without having to store all my photos on all my apple devices. I know that I can attach an eternal drive with the thousands of photos but I was wondering if I can dedicate an iPad with lots of memory and use it only for viewing all my photos. Thanks for helping.

I can think that you may need a third party photo viewing app. But you’ll need to disable iCloud on this device (iCloud is a syncing service so if this device is on iCloud and all your other devices are also on iCloud you can’t delete it off one without deleting a photo off the others.)

You’ll also potentially want to explore the controls that come with screentime to lock out things….you probably don’t want strangers able to get in and see things (email, internet settings, etc)

I know ipad screens are pretty but if you don’t need interactivity you may wish to consider a simple digital photo screen or an android tablet that’s not linked to your Apple ID etc. Or if you do use an ipad perhaps some sort of case that disables buttons etc, so someone can’t mess with your device.
