When a new iPhone update is installed, does the process automatically delete obsolete files from prior versions?
If not is there a way to free up storage on my phone that’s being used by obsolete information files? Come on help me guys🙂🙃🙂😁

Yes. Of course, if you have personal obsolete files (such as data files from apps that no longer run on the updated iOS version), it’s up to you to remove these.

Typically an update within the same iOS major version (e.g., updating from iOS 16.2 to iOS 16.3) introduces a small amount (some megabytes) of storage use. That number should be in the noise relative to the amount of free storage on your iPhone, which you should never allow to fall below 6GB.
Thank you! Is there a way to know how much will be freed up? The newest update is over 3GB!
