connecting a presentation clicker

I use Canva for presentations. I have several USB/USB-C presentation clickers that I used to be able to connect to my laptop, but no more. It's a MacBook Pro running OS 13.1. The dongles are connecting to the remotes, but the computer won't see them. All of the clicker setups want me to be able to access the old bluetooth keyboard assistant and I can't connect with the new system setup.

Any thoughts?
