Apple Watch - able to listen for sounds?

Hey everyone

I’m interested in getting an Apple Watch. The function that measures sound levels got me thinking. I know that iPhone and iPad can have Siri listen for certain sounds (doorbell, dog barking etc) and give an alert and this works ok but does Watch have similar functionality?

My interest comes from being hard of hearing and often not catching the doorbell. I know there are smart doorbells but our house of old and connectivity to the front door is flaky…

Or is the solution to rig an old iPhone/iPod Touch on iOS 15 beside the bell ringer and I get a message that way?
