Disturbing video showing up while in conversation on messenger

How do I make sure that I don’t receive any kind of video while talking on messenger I was not using the video option in messenger when this happened. The video showed up on both my iPad and my friends iPad whom I was talking to. I signed off several times and turned my iPad on and off but it still kept appearing.

Overexposed videos received in iMessage (iPhone 7 issue) - IOS 15.7.3/15.7.4 issue Apple introduced a problem either in IOS 15.7.3 or 15.7.4 on my iPhone 7. Whenever I receive a video in iMessage (Cinematic specifically) from iPhone 13 or iPhone 14 users, the video picture thumbnail, before playing it, looks fine in my iMessage, but when I play the video, the video appears overexposed in White on my phone. I also notice when playing the video that an "HDR" indicator displays momentarily in the upper left corner of the video (and subsequently disappears), but I'm unsure if that always happened in the past. I updated to IOS 15.7.5, hoping that it may have been fixed in this version, but the problem persists. My wife also has an identical iPhone 7, and her phone does not exhibit this problem, but she is running an IOS version prior to IOS 15.7.3.

Videos received in FB Messenger will not autoplay on iPad as they do on iPhone. I have an iPad Pro and an iPhone XR. On my phone, any Facebook video sent to me in Messenger will automatically go to the FB post and start the video, however, when I try to open the same video sent to Messenger from FB on my iPad it takes me to FB and not the actual video post so I cannot ever get to the video on my iPad. Does anyone have any ideas as to what else I can do? 9-27-23 [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Are you asking about Messages, the built-in Apple messaging app? Or are you asking about Messenger, the Facebook app? If you're asking about Messages, I'm not sure what you mean by "talking on ...." as Messages is a texting app and doesn't have any voice capabilities. However, I don't believe there is a way to prevent people from sending you messages while you are typing messages.

If you mean Messenger, you'll need to talk to Facebook about that.
